Glowing Green Juice
I tend to juice a lot more in the warmer months. Juicing extracts the juice from fresh fruits or vegetables. The resulting liquid contains most of the vitamins, minerals and plant chemicals (phytonutrients) found in the whole fruit. However, whole fruits and vegetables also have healthy fiber, which is lost during most juicing. I try to have a mixture of both, because both whole produce or smoothies and juicing have different but equal amounts of benefits.
This juice recipe is my go-to because I always have these ingredients on hand at my house, either as a weekly grocery staple, or in my garden. It’s really refreshing and has the added benefit of also having a diuretic effect, which can help you shed a little water weight.
Green Detox Juice Ingredients
- 2 large handfuls of greens (I like the power greens mix and it’s available at most stores)
- 2 cucumbers
- 2 green apples
- 1 inch cube of ginger
- handful of mint
- handful of parsley
Add ginger first and then all all other ingredients in any order. Makes a couple cups depending on the volume of the produce you use. I wouldn’t store this more than a day, and it has to be in an airtight (preferably glass) container.
