I love love love smoothies and juices. When I have the time, I make them at home because it’s less expensive and I actually know exactly what I’m drinking. This particular recipe was adapted from the Rockin Ronda smoothie at Berrybrook Farm Food Pantry in Charlotte. It is my favorite because it’s kinda sweet, is full of veggies, plus it has avocado that gives it an extra filling kick of fat and fiber.
Here is my version of the recipe. It can be adapted my doubling or tripling ingredients if you want more servings. Enjoy!
- 1/2 avocado, pitted
- 1 cucumber
- 1/4 cup apple juice
- 1/2 cup diced frozen pineapple
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 oz. wheatgrass
- optional: 1 tbl each of chia and flax seeds
