Coconut Oil: 4 Ways to Use it Before 9am
Coconut oil is such a beneficial part of my daily life, I use it for cooking, my body, and for my dog. I buy the organic kind from whatever store has it for the cheapest price at that time, typically Vitamin Shoppe or Sprouts. Here are a few ways I use it daily.
My AM Coconut Oil Routine
I usually wake up between 6:30 and 7 a.m. The first thing I do after getting out of bed is shower. I use coconut oil all over my body while I’m still wet. It locks in moisture and keeps my skin soft. I may also follow this up with a layer of she butter lotion as well, especially in the winter. Next, I use it on the crown and ends of my hair to combat the drying of the cold weather we are currently experiencing. Then I swallow a tablespoon of it along with my morning supplements(collagen, iron, and a multivitamin). It helps me digest the fat-soluble vitamins. My dog Jade, also gets a spoonful of it with her food in the morning. It’s great for her teeth and skin. I also drink 2 cups of lemon or apple cider vinegar water at room-temperature. Lastly, around 8:30 or 9 a.m. I will have coffee made in my french press. I typically mix it with coconut oil and coconut cream to create my own personalized version of bulletproof coffee.
